Paisa
Telugu (A) ¬¬
Cast: Nani, Catherine Tresa, Charan Raj, Bharath, Siddhika Sharma,
Director: Krishna Vamsi

Money, Money, Money, Must be funny, Aha-ahaa, All the things I could do,
If I had a little money as goes the eponymous Abba song, Vamsi's Pra(c)ash too believes in the credo that if he had bushel of booty things could turn out better and bring sunshine in his languid life.

Making measly sum being model for Sherwani firm, our Paisa is Parmathama pouting Pra(c)ash justifiably gives Noor, who moons for him, the thumbs down. He, however, more than, turns happier when Sweetie, pretty lass of ambitious politico (busy with hawala racket for politicals gain), cosies up to the money mad man, reciprocating with more than cupid in mind.

Even as he dallies between the damsels he hits paydirt discovering Rs 50 crore booty in his car’s trunk. Lo and behold! goodness gets the better of his heart and he saves Noor from possible hell (being married off to old and rich Arab) she would have
fallen.

Well, can romance be without pinpricks and pesky pursuers trying to thwart its smooth course? How did the loot land in his car’s boot?

How those who lost it try to retrieve it back from our Pra(c)ash and try to foil his cupid caper, forms Vamsi’s Paisa, a heady cocktail of crime, romance, comedy, and petty politics brewed together.

Nani lives the role of money crazy beau while ladies pep up proceedings. A trite comic thriller, liberally laced with mundane masala, Paisa with subtle message on money laundering, political horse-trading and Hawala racket, and Hyderabad’s Charminar as its celluloid canvas, provides vasool time for regulars trying to find nirvana in the darked auditorium. Rest stay clear.
