If Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sticks to its plans as announced in the budget, over one lakh site aspirants may heave a sigh of relief. The authority has plans to distribute the sites at Ravindranath Tagore Nagar and Ballahalli expecting a revenue of whopping Rs 13,295 lakh from that alone.

That apart, it has prepared an estimation for Rs 2,109.22 lakh for further development of various layouts. The afore said amount will be spent on the already announced MUDA layouts like Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, Swarnajayanthi Nagar, Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar second stage, Lalithadri Nagar second stage, Ravindranath Tagore Nagar second stage and Shanthaveri Gopalgowda Nagar second stage.

The authority has issued primary notification for the said layouts way back in the year 2005-06 and 2006-07. It includes 205.12 acres in Lingambudhi and Yadahalli for Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Nagar, 181.05 acres at Chowdalli and Haalalu for Swarna Jayanthi Nagar. The authority is awaiting administrative approval from the government.

Another major plan in the pipeline is multi-storeyed housing complex on a pilot basis. Following the unavailability of adequate lands for horizontal growth, MUDA is looking for vertical development in the form of multi-storeyed housing complexes.

On an experimental basis, under public private partnership, the authority wants to construct 500 houses. An amount of Rs one crore has been set aside for the purpose.Revenue sources
