Students ask for fruits, egg instead of nutrition tablet

The government provides international tour facility for MLAs and MLCs, but why it is not giving such an opportunity for students who actually study about foreign countries in their text books? Why the smart classes have not started in government schools? Why the government can’t give fruits or eggs instead of nutrition tablets?

These are some of the questions raised by the high school students during their interaction with Primary Education Minister Kimmane Rathnakar, here in Tarikere, on Thursday.

Students asked why the government could not solve the confusions over SSLC public examination. They also demanded to increase the number of school buildings, number of teachers, number of toilets and improve the water facility according to the rise in the number of students.

They wanted the government to organise tours to historical places of State to all students, every year and at a fixed schedule. Students asked why the government makes discrimination among PUC students by distributing laptops only to SC/ST students. The Minister gave brief answers to most of the questions and assured of considering their suggestions.

Speaking on reservation, he said, the government has implemented reservation for backward classes as an attempt to bring them to the mainstream of society. It is just like a mother showing more love and concern towards her child, which needs more support. The basic facilities in schools will be improved step-by-step. The government will take a decision on organising tours for all students at once, the Minister said.
