AP urban local body polls on March 30

Ahead of the general elections, municipal polls are to be held in Andhra Pradesh on March 30, the state election commission announced on Monday.

In all, 146 municipalities and 10 municipal corporations will go for single phase polls in the state, currently under the President’s rule. Over 1 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise.With this announcement, the model code of conduct comes into force in Andhra Pradesh, including  Hyderabad and Secunderabad, which will not go for polls.
