Last Updated 06 March 2014, 19:53 IST
Ailing actor and Housing Minister M H Ambarish has been taken off the ventilator after doctors at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, where he is undergoing treatment, found improvement in his health.

The actor was put on ventilator support two weeks ago and admitted to Vikram Hospital on February 21. “We are in touch with doctors at the Singapore hospital. He is doing well. The respiratory infection has gone down,” Dr K S Satish, chief pulmonologist, Vikram Hospital, Bangalore, told mediapersons on Thursday.

Dr Satish further said Ambarish will be in the ICU for the next 48 hours after which he would be shifted to a special ward.

The actor will continue to be treated in Singapore for the next two weeks. He has spoken to his wife and son but it will take him some time to completely return to his normal lifestyle, the doctor added.
