Talks, rallies mark Women's Day

Free health checkup camps and seminars on various issues pertaining to women were among the events held in the City on Saturday as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations.

On the day celebrated with the theme ‘equality for women progress for all’ this year, Hosmat Hospital organised a free consultation for orthopaedic problems among women.
Super speciality consultation, bone mineral density testing, dietician consultation and body fat analysis along with X-ray and investigations were carried out as part of the camp.

At event titled ‘The Strong Women’s Forum’ organised by Apollo Hospital,  writer Rohini Nilekani said it was essential for men and women to work hand in hand. “Woman’s support is very necessary for man because of the mental strength that she displays. The strength of woman is immense and we need to congratulate each and every woman survivor for the strength that she has exhibited in overcoming trying times,” she added.
Hairline International Hair and Skin Clinic donated wigs and hair patches to women cancer patients at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology on the eve of women’s day.

The All India Mahila Samskruthika Sanghatane (AIMSS) at the UVCE Alumni Association hall conducted a programme on growing crimes against women and ensuring security for them.
