Cartoon exhibition

A cartoon exhibition featuring 75 cartoons by the Shettigar brothers, Yathish and Yogish L Shettigar, is on display at the Indian Institute of Cartoonists off M G Road behind Big Kids Kemp. The exhibition was inaugurated by Kannada actor Ananth Nag on Wednesday and is open for the public every day till December 19 from 10 am to 6 pm.

Majority of the cartoons on display at the exhibition are political and social parodies.

Yathish, the younger of the two, is a senior graphic artist at Deccan Herald has had his works exhibited at a number of cartoon exhibitions organised by the World Press Cartoon in Portugal and other countries. Speaking at the inauguration, cine actor Ananth Nag said that he had always been a big fan of cartoons and caricatures. “There are many times I pick up a newspaper and don’t feel like reading the news but I always look at the cartoons because they are lighter and extremely intelligent,” he said.
