Nominations for 2nd phase of poll in UP

Nominations for the 11 Lok Sabha seats going to the polls in the second phase in Uttar Pradesh on April 17 began on Wednesday.

An estimated 1.8 crore voters are likely to exercise their franchise in the second phase. The scrutiny of nomination papers would be undertaken on March 27 and the last date for withdrawal of names is March 29.

The seats going to the polls in the second phase were Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Amroha, Budaon, Aonla, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahajahanpur and Kheri.

According to the Election Commission, so far eight candidates have filed their nomination papers for the first phase of polling in the state on April 10.
