Even as former Union minister C K Jaffer Sharief and former MP H T Sangliana have hinted at severing ties with the Congress party, Home Minister K J George, on Thursday, exuded confidence that the senior leaders will remain in the party.

Speaking to media, here, George said, however, if they take a decision to quit the party, it will be a great loss to the organisation. Efforts will be made to pacify them.

Ambareesh

Replying to media queries, George said, Housing Minister and Mandya MLA M H Ambareesh may return soon. “I had been to Singapore on the direction of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to enquire the health of Ambareesh. He is recovering and will be back in action soon”, said George.

On poll preparations, George said, measures are being initiated to make foolproof arrangements on the directions of the Election Commission of India.

Apart from the State police, police forces from neighbouring states will be arriving here on security duty.

Money seizure

On the involvement of police personnel attached to the South police station, in Mysore, in the money seizure (at Yelwal) case, George said, a team of senior officials are already investigating the case.
