Kejri to campaign in city

Aam Aadmi Party’s star campaigner Arvind Kejriwal will return to Delhi for the last leg of the election campaign. On Friday, he said his eight-day campaign for the seven Lok Sabha seats will start on April 1.

Kejriwal will participate in road shows and public meetings for party candidates. Before leaving for the rally in Varanasi, he will campaign in two satellite cities of Delhi – Faridabad and Gurgaon.

The party will consider organising concerts to bolster youth support, an AAP member said. “The party has not planned to organise fundraising dinners,” AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey said. However, he said AAP leaders may participate in dinners organised by clubs and associations in the city.

Some AAP leaders believe that the party is facing volunteers’ ire. A faction of AAP supporters said that they plan to protest on Sunday against the party’s parachute candidates.

“We will protest against these outsiders. This time, volunteers are unhappy with the party. More leaders should have come up from within the party,” Mithun Khanagwal, who has been working for the party since the Assembly elections, said.

This faction of AAP has been named ‘Aam Aadmi Sena’. Several volunteers also said that the support of active volunteers is thinning.
