The State police have decided to order a detailed probe by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) into the incident of a realtor-cum-financier killing his wife and two children by injecting them with poison and then hanging himself to death at his residence at Vakil Garden near Talaghattapura in Ramanagar district on Thursday night.

A decision has been taken in this regard considering the nature of the murders and the suicide and the alleged harassment by a police officer from Hyderabad, said sources in the police department.

The police have analysed the evidences collected at the victim’s residence, including the suicide note.

Kaushik P Sharma and his family members decided to end their lives allegedly due to harassment by a police officer attached to CID wing of Hyderabad. The victim, in a letter named the officer as Reddy, said Ramanagar district Superintendent of Police Anupam Agarwal.

Such cases need to be probed by police officers of both the states. Hence, a decision has been taken to hand over the case to the CID, he said.

The syringes and bottles found at his residence have been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis. The suicide note has been given to graphology experts for examination, he said.

Nobody knows the relationship that existed between Sharma and Reddy. It might take some time to find answers to such questions, said another officer.

Sharma injected his wife, son and daughter with poison and then hanged himself to death. Sharma, a native of Mangalore, was into real estate and finance business.
