Movie on fashion industry

Different angle

Model-actress Dipannita Sharma is likely to co-write a movie script on the fashion industry.

She hopes that the project will change the “perception” of people about the “one dimensional angle” of the industry.

“Modelling is what I owe my career to. And I feel that the perception and portrayal of the fashion industry as a whole has been misrepresented many times. It has been shown just one-dimensional in movies,” said Dipannita, a former Miss India contestant.

“I have always toyed with the idea of writing a script on this subject and I may soon be putting this into reality. I have a producer friend of mine who seeded this thought into my head and I am considering it,” added Dipannita, who has featured in films like Jodi Breakers and ‘Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl’.

In the past, acclaimed film-maker Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’ had explored the dark side of the fashion world.

Dipannita’s film is likely to be based on her own  experiences, her learning and what she calls is the real side of the fashion industry.

The idea, according to a source close to the actress, stemmed when a renowned publishing house approached Dipannita to pen a book on her life as a model.

While the book is definitely a prospect for Dipannita, pursuing the movie will be her first priority.
