Six arrested for rowdy's murder

Six people, including two rowdies, were arrested by the Banashankari police in connection with the murder of rowdy-sheeter Naveen on March 23 in Padmanabhanagar.

Thopu Raju alias Raju, 33, listed as rowdy by the Basavanagudi police and the prime accused in the murder in the Jayanagar police limits; Mohammed Aleemullah, 25; Sudhir Prakash, 20; Tejas, 26; Channakeshav, 30; Athush alias Atheeq Ahmed, 40, listed as rowdy by the Cottonpet police and prime accused in the murder case in the Cottonpet police limits, were arrested in Ramanagara, Mandya and Bangalore.

Several assault weapons used to commit the crime and three two-wheelers were recovered from the arrested persons.

Athush had murdered Naveen’s friend Jeevan. This had led to tension between Naveen and Athush. Athush decided to murder Naveen and hired Thopu Raju, Naveen’s friend.On March 24, at around 4 pm, Raju invited Naveen to his residence in Padmanabhnagar for a drink.

When Naveen arrived with liquor, Aleemullah, Tejas and Channakeshav joined them. They assaulted Naveen and fled, the police said.

Raju’s wife Sunitha was present at the time of the incident. The police are investigating whether she had any role in the murder.
