Man choked to death with wire

 Hanumanth Kattimani, 37, a native of Gulbarga, residing in Anand Rao Layout, was choked to death with a electric wire at his residence.

He was staying in a rented house, a portion of which was used as a studio by Chandru and Prince.

According to the police, the incident took place after Chandru and Prince left for home at 7 pm on Friday and Kattimani was alone. It is suspected that unidentified miscreants barged into the house and after tying up Kattimani choked him to death with a wire.

The incident came to light when Chandru and Prince came back on Saturday afternoon to work.

Hanumanth was found dead with a wire around his neck and his hands and legs tied with wires. A bachelor, Kattimani used to organise patriotic movie shows for schoolchildren, to earn his livelihood. His parents and siblings reside in Gulbarga.Upparpet Police Station have registered a case. 

Girl commits suicide

Sushma, 17, a first year pre-university student at BMS College, set herself ablaze at her residence in Manjunatha Colony, Banashankari III Stage, following humiliation to her parents.

Her father Vajravelu was into real estate business and had a dispute with a few neighbours. Venkatesh, Yogesh, Ramesh and Rudresh had humiliated him over a business deal.

Unable to bear the humiliation meted out to her parents, Sushma set herself ablaze. Neighbours, who noticed smoke emanating from the house, rushed to her help. But she died of burns, police said.

In her death note, Sushma has blamed Venkatesh, Yogesh, Ramesh and Rudresh for her suicide. While Venkatesh and Yogesh have been taken into custody, Ramesh and Rudresh are absconding. A case of abetment to suicide has been booked.
