Philanthropy Day 2014’ was organised by the students of International School of Management Excellence recently.

The Student Club had earmarked this event to contribute to the underprivileged and downtrodden in the society.

The objective of the event was to ingrain the concept of giving back to the society. It was more of a corporate social responsibility act inculcated as part of the club activity.

The staff, faculty and the students visited a home for destitutes on Sarjapur Road and contributed in cash and kind.

The inmates were given blankets, groceries, detergents and other commodities for their daily use.

Aishi Das, a student from the group, said, “Such visits bring out the stark reality of life. We feel remorseful to see the indifference in the society.”

Yet another student, Atul Honnavar, added, “As management students, there is an utmost need to sensitise individuals with values which cannot be simply eroded. We need to cultivate the synergy among our generation.”
