<p>A meeting of the managements of sugar factories in Karnataka has been convened in Bangalore on Monday (May 5) to deliberate on the payment of the government-fixed price to sugarcane growers.<br /><br />Sugar minister Prakash Hukkeri told reporters here on Saturday that he was hopeful of managements paying the sugar cane price determined by the government. </p>.<p>However, he added that Monday’s meeting would also discuss legal measures that would be taken against the managements not falling in line. <br /><br />Food and Civil Supplies minister would also attend the meeting the proceedings of which would be reported to the chief minister.</p>.<p>Hukkeri said that a delegation from Karnataka will soon leave for Maharashtra seeking release of water from Koyna and Kalammawadi dams to meet the drinking water requirement in the parched Krishna basin.<br /></p>
