A hotel manager was found stabbed to death in south-east Delhi’s Govindpuri in the wee hours of Sunday. Police reckon it to be a case of attack over personal enmity or robbery.

The victim has been identified as Nikhil, who hailed from Uttarakhand and worked with a hotel in East of Kailash.

He had been staying at a rented house in Govindpuri with his wife and two children for the last two months. He had shifted from Jasola, where he stayed for the last two years.

“A call was made to the police control room around 1 am reporting that an injured man was seeking help in Nehru Camp A-Block,” said a police officer.

A PCR van responded to the call and rushed the man to the AIIMS trauma centre, where he was declared brought dead.

A black bag was also recovered from the spot, which helped police identify the victim and inform his family members. The body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem.
“He had sustained multiple stab wounds and apparently died due to excess bleeding.

His statement could not be recorded due to which the attack continues to be a mystery,” the officer added.

A case of murder has been registered with Govindpuri police station. Police questioned locals, but none of them reported to have seen Nikhil being attacked.

It is suspected that he may have been attacked at some other place and was dumped there from a moving vehicle.

Police have also recovered Nikhil’s mobile phone and are analysing the call data records. Nikhil’s family, friends and colleagues have also been questioned.
