She has chosen this film to raise her voice against child abuse. Abhimanyu is one of the five short films which speak about social issues. The film is directed by Onir and will be screened at several national and international festivals.

About Abhimanyu, Pooja says “I have always wanted to be associated with a cause. Since Abhimanyu gives out a strong message on child abuse, I took it up. I love children and I feel bad and ashamed about our society when children are murdered, raped and abused.”

When asked about her experiences in Abhimanyu, she says, “The team was really nice and professional. They are real film-makers as they talk about realistic issues. They have given their best for the movie. It was a great experience for me.”
As for her role in the movie, she says, “I’ll be noticed for my role, I have a very important scene. It was shot in Bangalore.”

She makes it clear that she had no intentions of jumping to Bollywood. She took this one up as it was for a good cause.

Raising her voice strongly against child abuse, she says, “Child abuse exists even today, not many people speak out and fight it. People should come out and protest against it rather than undergo the trauma silently. I know some people who have been victims of child abuse and because of that, their entire life has changed.”
