And that's a wrap!

There’s no doubt that college-goers love dressing up and enhancing their look by accessorising their outfits.

Among the funky accessories that have flooded the market, colourful bandanas seem to have caught the fancy of many. Bandanas were once an integral part of the cowboy and hip-hop culture. Now, a lot of experimenting is done on the ways in which it is worn. The funkier, the more attractive, is the mantra that college-goers follow when they buy a bandana.

There are a host of envious varieties in bandana like flag, paisley, plain, printed, satin and skull. It works well in any weather and occasion and adds that much-needed colour and texture to any outfit, be it skirts or pants.

Smirthi, a student of Mount Carmel College, says, “I think bandanas are the in thing and can be carried off in a sophisticated manner. It is not only comfortable but also adds colour to the outfit.” Tanya, another students, adds, ‘Bandanas leave one looking cool.”

These young people wear it not only because it’s a fashion statement but also because it has multiple uses. Those who ride find these helpful to prevent hairfall and protect the skin. A bandana is also worn around the neck to add that tinge of glamour to the garment. “When I think of the bandana, an image of the 90s pops up in my head.

Tall men wearing a leather jacket and riding a Harley Davidson comes to mind,” says Apoorva, a youngster. Since the market is now also flooded with designs, youngsters are spoilt for choice!
