Kerala’s Mayookha Johny set a new meet record on her way to winning the gold in the women’s triple jump on the third day of the National Inter-State Athletics Championships here on Saturday.

Mayookha jumped to a new high of 13.72 metres – bettering the meet record she had set in 2010 when she jumped 13.68. Karnataka’s Joyline Lobo took second spot with an effort of 13.05. 

Uttar Pradesh’s Annu Rani set a new national record in the javelin with a throw 58.83 metres, bettering Gurmeet Kaur’s effort of 58.64 which she had set in 2000. 

Results: Men: High jump: Nikhil Chittarasu (TN) 2.20 metres, 1; Jithin C Thomas (Kerala) 2.18, 2; S Harshith (Karnataka) 2.14 metres, 3.

Discus throw: Dharmaraj Yadav (UP) 56.73 metres, 1; Vikas Poonia (Rajasthan) 55.18, 2; Baljinder Singh (Punjab) 55.11, 3.

20km walk: Chandan Singh (UK) 1:31:33, 1; Baljinder Singh (Punjab) 1:31:48, 2; Kuldeep (Haryana) 1:31:56, 3.

Women: Pole vault: V S Surekha (TN) 3.90 metres, 1; Kiranbir Kaur (Punjab) 3.60, 2; Remya R (MP) 3.50, 3.

Triple jump: Mayookha Johny (Kerala) 13.72 metres (NMR. Old: 13.68, Mayookha, 2010), 1; Joyline Lobo (Karnataka) 13.05, 2; Neena V (Jharkhand) 13.04, 3.

Javelin: Annu Rani (UP) 58.83 metres (National record. Old: 58.64, Gurmeet Kaur, 2000), 1; Suman Devi (UP) 56.92, 2; Saraswathy (TN) 47.49, 3.

4x100M relay: Odisha 46.27 seconds, 1; Kerala 46.50, 2; Tamil Nadu 47.71, 3.
