Bescom takes up tree pruning

Several areas in the City went without power on Tuesday with the Bescom taking up tree-pruning job.

Bescom officials said that they had received more than 2,000 complaints relating to tree branches falling on electricity poles and high tension lines. N Jayanthi, General Manager (Customer Relations), Bescom, told Deccan Herald that recently a meeting was held with KPTCL and Palike authorities to chalk out a plan for the monsoon season.

“Everyday we register more than 1,000 complaints and the number rises considerably during monsoon. This time, we are more alert and instructions have been given to officials to take suitable preventive steps,” she said. Complaints related to power woes can be lodged on 080 22873333 or 1912, the officials added. 

No power supply

Power supply will be disrupted in many parts of the City on Thursday between 8 am and 4 pm due to shifting of electricity poles in Vidyanagar, Kondasapura and Peenya-Hoskote. Areas which will be affected are Vidyanagar Cross, Doddajala, Chikkajala, Navarathna Agrahara, Sadahalli Gate, Bylanahalli, Utopia Layout, Dwaraka Nagar, Sathanur, Bagalur, Safal Market, Avalahalli, Veerenahalli, Cipla, DRDO, Budigere Road, Mandur dump yard and surrounding areas.
