JOIN USAn eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by two minors in Gonavatla tanda of Lingasugur taluk on Sunday.
According to police, Kavitha Bheemasheppa Rathod had been to the fields to graze sheep on Sunday morning, along with the two suspects.
Since she did not return home in the evening, her parents searched for her throughout night and on Monday they enquired the two boys about the whereabouts of their daughter.
Initially, the boys were reluctant to disclose the whereabouts, but after much cajoling and offer of money, one of them took the girl’s parents near a bush and showed them the body of Kavitha.
Thrashed
Irate villagers thrashed the two boys and attempted to set them afire.
However, the police, who got the information, rushed to the spot and rescued the boys.
