Five held for youth's murder

The Byatarayanapura police have arrested five persons in connection with a murder which took place in Byatarayanapura on June 16.

The arrested are Kitty, 29, Bhaskar, 32, Ravi, 25, Hemanth, 21 and Ravikumar, 23. The police have recovered the assault weapons and an autorickshaw which was used to commit the crime, police said.

Pranesh, 24, was attacked with lethal weapons by the suspects who came in an autorickshaw. They fled the spot soon after. Passersby who noticed Pranesh lying on the road in a pool of blood rushed him to Victoria Hospital, but he was declared brought dead.
The police said Pranesh was a habitual offender and several cases were booked against him in Byatarayanapura police station.

Revenge killing

It is said that the murder was planned by his rival gang of Kitty and his associates. They had murdered Pranesh’s relative Dhanraj in 2009, for which Pranesh wanted to take revenge on Kitty, police said.

The police came to know that Kitty and Pranesh wanted to kill each other. They warned them against attacking each other. Despite this, Kitty and Bhaskar hatched a plan and along with the other suspects, attacked Pranesh.
