3 killed in separate accidents

Three persons were killed in separate accidents on Saturday morning.

A 38-year-old pedestrian was killed on the spot while he was crossing the road in Gurappana Palya, after he was mowed by a private bus. The victim, Mohammed Nasir Pasha, a vegetable vendor, is said to have been in a hurry as he wanted to catch a bus to City Market when the accident took place. The bus driver fled the spot after the accident, abandoning the vehicle.

In another accident, a 21-year-old man was killed when a  lorry ran over him near Konappana Agrahara Junction on Hosur Road in Electronics City. The victim is identified as Manjunath, a garments factory employee and a resident of Attibele.

A speeding lorry rammed into him from behind, killing him on the spot. Manjunath was on his way to Bommanahalli for work. The driver was arrested.

In a separate accident in Chikpet traffic police limits on Mysore Road flyover on Saturday morning, a two-wheeler rider died after he rammed his bike into a road median. The victim, Kiran Kumar, 34 was  a native of Ramanagara district and a worker in a jewellery shop on Avenue Road. He was on his way to work when the accident took place, added the police.
