Sandalwood director PC Shekar’s mega project with veteran Kannada actor Devaraj and his son Prajwal is complete.

Shekar is yet to zero in on an appropriate title for the film but he is thrilled with the outcome of the project. Sharing his experiences, Shekar says, “With Devaraj and Prajwal, it’s not a typical father-son role. If you’ve watched Devaraj’s previous projects, you would know that he is famous for his roles as a cop and tough appearances and in this project as well, he plays the role of an investigating officer,” explains Shekar.

Talking about why he chose Prajwal, Shekar explains, “I would like to break the romantic image of Prajwal and project him in a different light. He has a serious side to him and I would like to cash in on that aspect.” He further states that Devaraj’s character in the movie talks less and observes more.

The female lead in the film is played by actress Bhama and Shekar states that he wanted an actress who could not only understand the essence of the character but is also dedicated. “We were looking for someone who could handle the character with ease and maturity. We found the right qualities in Bhama, who is known for her commitment and discipline when it comes to work,” states Shekar.

Shekar states that he was impressed with Bhama’s respect for time and her maturity towards work. Shekar shares that the film has a scene in which the heroine has to ride a bike. “I was particular that the actress must know how to ride a two-wheeler. Although it has been two years since Bhama rode a bike, she did a good job. She lost her balance a couple of times and ended up with a bad leg sprain. But I was taken aback when she continued to shoot. She didn’t cause inconvenience to anybody on the sets or stop shooting,” he shares.
Delving into the scene, Shekar says that it involved a guy spitting out of the bus, which in turn forces Bhama who is riding behind it to lose her balance. “The scene required Bhama to chase the bus on her bike. She even had to board the bus to confront the man who spat. Bhama completed this scene with perfection despite her injury. This is what I call being a thorough professional,” sums up Shekar.
