Undertrial falls to death

An undertrial died after he fell down from the second floor of an under-construction building inside the Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara on Tuesday. 

The victim was identified as Thayappa, a resident of Mattikere. He was arrested on the charge of strangling his wife Basamma on June 20. The authorities have taken up a project to construct a new building inside the Central Prison. Thayappa went there and was soon found lying on the ground. 

Nobody knows how the incident occurred. It is yet to be ascertained whether it was a suicide or murder, said the police. He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on the way, the police said.
