Deeksha Seth is bubbling with excitement and is exuberant about her entry into Bollywood with the soon-to-release Lekar Hum Deewana Dil. The young actress, who was in the City recently, talks about how dear this project is to her and about her journey has been till now.

.
“It feels amazing as this film will be out on July 4.

I feel like someone who has got a new toy to show to the whole world,” she says, adding that despite having acted entirely in the South Indian industry, a Hindi film didn’t seem very different. “We were in a protected shell with a lot of training and classes as we were newcomers,” she says.

Deeksha used to live in Chennai and has visited Bangalore a lot. “We used to drive to Bangalore almost every weekend. I still remember that I had come for the launch of Kemp Fort and got my first Barbie doll from there. I love the City. Chennai was where I studied and lived and Bangalore was where I hung out at that time,” she says. She also loves the weather here. “Bangalore is a city with all the luxuries of a metro while holding onto its culture,” she adds.
If not an actress, Deeksha says that she would have been a marine archeologist. “I love the water and I love knowing things. As a kid, I wanted to be an archeologist. It is later that I realised that there’s something called marine archeology. These were my two favourite passions:

history and water. But now, I am an actor and so I just do scuba-diving as a recreation,” she says. Deeksha says that she would love to act in any water-themed movie.
Fashion to Deeksha means comfort and being able to carry herself around well. “I feel that fashion is about presenting oneself well. First impressions do matter. But to enter films, acting is the criteria,” she adds.

About her experience with Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, she says that acting in her mother tongue was very exciting. “Suddenly, I was working in my own language and there was so much I could do to a scene to take it from one place to another. I never realised it was such a big deal,” she says.

With Lekar... she felt like she was back at school learning different things. She says that she relates to her character ‘Karishma Shetty’ on an emotional level. “As people, we are very different and that’s what made the role fun since I could understand Karishma but I wasn’t her,” she adds. The movie sees the two young characters of Armaan and Deeksha eloping from home and their journey of life ahead.

About marriage, she says, “There is no age for marriage apart from the legal age limit. I truly believe that marriage is about love. Even if I’m 35, I think I will only marry for love. I am not sure what my parents think about this, but I strongly believe in togetherness,” she wraps up.
