The rumbling noise on a rainy Sunday afternoon transformed to a wave of excitement as 35 Harley Davidson bikes kicked off from The Oberoi, MG Road and ripped through the wet roads.

The rain did nothing to dampen their spirits as the enthusiastic bikers of the Harley Owners Group rode around landmarks like Trinity Station, Anil Kumble Circle and back.
The ride was to kick off the Harley Owners Group (HOG) chapter and promote the two brands — Harley Davidson and The Oberoi.

The promotional event is for five months and was inaugurated, this year in April.   The Harley owners and their spouses gathered at the hotel around 3 pm and returned in 30 minutes, after which they planted a sapling at the hotel, as their motto for the act was to ‘go green’.
Eminent bikers of the Harley Owners’ Group were part of the event.

When asked whether the rain didn’t deter the riders’ spirits, Vijay Bharadwaj, the director of Bangalore Tusker HOG, said, “Riding in the rain is difficult and amazing.

It is when we experience the beauty of the natural elements at its purest form such as the wind hitting our faces and the beating of raindrops. Lean weather and lean traffic is always what all bikers hope for.”

Vijay has done more than a 100,000 km on his two motorcycles and is still continuing. He added that the character of the bike is what sets it apart from the rest.

“Somewhere, it is the character of the bike that matches with the rider’s personality.”
Bangalore has emerged as a city with a number of young entrepreneurs and adult corporates who have immense interests in bikes and bike rides.
