'Include Tulu in 8th Schedule'

The Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Jattipalla Manasa Mahila Mandala, Kapila Yuvaka Mandala, Sullia Tudar Tulu koota, SKDRDP, Jattipalla Manasa Mahila Jnana Vikasa Kendra oragnised  ‘Aatidonji dina’ at Jattipalla in Sullia on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Tulu Academy member K T Vishwanath highlighted the importance of Aati month.

Tulu Tudar Koota Vice President J K Rai said that there is a need to impress upon the government to include Tulu in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. Vishwa Tulu Sammelana will be held in Mangalore.

Manasa Mahila Mandala Honorary President Chandrakshi J Rai presided over the programme. Folk artiste B Jayarama was felicitated. There were competitions like tying coconut fronds, singing pad dana and hitting coconuts. ‘Chennu Nalike,’ and ‘Aati kalanja’ were presented on the occasion .
