They can remain open till 1 am. In a press release on Tuesday, Commissioner of Police Shankar M Bidari, however, asked the bars and restaurants licensed under the Karnataka Excise Act and serving Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) to obtain permission from the concerned State Excise Authorities for extension in the closure deadline and deliver a copy of the same to the inspector of the jurisdictional police station by 3 pm on December 31.
