“We will be making a review of structure of incentives being given to various sectors to boost export. We are closely analyzing the performance of key segments of export. If any specific sector needs incentives we will consider these,” the Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar told reporters here.

“We are waiting for the export figure for December. Once we analyze that data we will figure out which segments of export still need incentives. Some time next month we will get a clear picture about extension or continuation of sector-specific incentives,” he said.
Since October last year, following global slowdown, country’s export has been witnessing sharp decline.

Only in November this year after posting negative growth rate for 13 consecutive months, export reached a level of 13.2 billion dollars as against 11.2 billion dollars in the corresponding month lat year posting a positive growth rate of 18.2 per cent. Since July this year the intensity of decline in export has been softened with some segments of export showing improved performance.
