Decision on BIAL after meeting

Speaker says lapses can be rectified

The Speaker said this in reply to senior Congress member T B Jayachandra’s stating that the report has drawn a lot of criticism from all quarters denting the image and dignity of the House.

There had been no controversy or adverse comments on any Legislature committee and their findings in the last five decades. Noted personalities have been indicted in this report. There is a provision in the rule book to rectify lapses, if any. The Speaker, therefore, should take an appropriate decision to protect the respect of the House, he said. D K Shivakumar, one of the panel members, has rejected some of the recommendations made in the report and requested the Speaker to withdraw it and make necessary amendments.
