Kavan, Simran clinch U-14 titles

Karnataka’s Kavan S Kumar and KS Simran emerged champions in  the boys and girls category of the Namma Sportz-AITA under-14 Talent Series tennis championship which concluded at the academy courts here on Tuesday.

  Top seed Kavan rallied from a set down to beat second seed V Praneeth 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 in the boys final. The girls final too went the distance as second seed KS Simran prevailed 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (1) in a see-saw contest lasting three hours against the top seed Chelsea Stephen.  Results (all finals:) Boys: Kavan S Kumar bt Praneeth 2-6, 6-1, 6-2.Girls: KS Simran bt Chelsea Stephen 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (1).
