The Legislature Committee on Women and Child Development has sought a report from the Home department on the recent sexual assault on a three-year-old girl at the Orchids The International School here.

The committee has asked the department to submit the report by November 6, its chairperson Shakuntala Shetty told reporters here on Thursday.

There has been public outcry over the sexual assault on the toddler, a student of the nursery class at the international school at Jalahalli, on Tuesday.

Shetty said the committee had also sought a report regarding the recent assault on Rashmi V Mahesh, the director general of Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Mysore, who was attacked by a group of former contract employees of the institute.

“The committee condemns the incident and has sought a comprehensive report,” Shakuntala Shetty said.

Earlier, Shakuntala Shetty and a few members of the committee met Legislative Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa at the latter’s chambers in the Vidhana Soudha and held discussions with him.
