“It is unfortunate that BJP legislators are claiming ministerial berths on the basis of caste and region they represent,” he told media persons here on Monday.

“No purpose will be served if the Government continues in the present manner,” he said, expressing displeasure against dissidence activities. BJP MLAs who cross voted when Vijay Mallya had contested Rajya Sabha election are nowhere now and a similar plight awaits legislators, who are involved in anti-party activities and issuing heroic statements before the media, he cautioned.

‘No gentleman’
He said that according ministerial berth for Renukacharya was a strategy to foil the plot hatched by Congress and JD(S) leaders to topple the BJP-led government in the State.
“Renukacharya is not a gentleman and we all know that. However he was made the minister to save the Government,” he remarked.

Reacting strongly against criticism from Congress and JD(S) leaders on inducting Renukacharya to the Cabinet, he said: “As per the plan of Ghulam Nabi Azad and Oscar Fernandes, the same leaders had tried to form a government with the help of Renukacharya-led faction.”

On JD(S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda’s statement that he will not object Siddaramaiah becoming Chief Minister, Eshwarappa said: “Deve Gowda who did not allow B S Yeddyurappa to continue as CM will not favour Siddaramaiah also.”
Eshwarappa said that women organisations in the State should protest against Jayalakshmi, who went public with her alleged relationship with Renukacharya. “Jayalakshmi’s behaviour is embarrassing BJP and Renukacharya’s wife,” he stated.
