Hunger strike withdrawn

Theatreperson Prasanna on Tuesday ended his five-day fast at Gajendragad, following the government’s assurance to address the demands of handloom weavers. 

The officials from the Textiles Department, who met Prasanna, told him that the textiles minister had agreed to hold a meeting to address the issues, after which Prasanna withdrew his protest.
