<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tributes to Jawaharlal Nehru on his 125th birth anniversary, remembering his efforts during the freedom struggle and his role as the first Prime Minister.<br /><br /></p>.<p>"Today we mark the 125th birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. My tributes to him," tweeted Modi, who is on a visit to Australia.<br /><br />"We remember Pandit Nehru's efforts during the freedom struggle and his role as the first Prime Minister of India," he said in another tweet.<br /><br />Modi has been accused by Congress of ignoring Nehru and appropriating the legacy of freedom movement leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel.<br /><br />The Prime Minister recently reconstituted an official committee for commemorating the 125th anniversary of Nehru. No one from the Nehru-Gandhi family was included in it even though three Congress leaders are its members.<br /><br />Modi has made it clear that the anniversary will be celebrated in a big way.</p>
