<p>It’s that time again to bring out the Christmas decorations that have been slowly catching dust over the past year. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The lush green Christmas trees, bridled with yards of colourful tinsel, printed bobbles and hangings, have already begun to appear, in an attempt to spread the Yuletide spirit.<br /><br />While the whole City preps for the festive season, hotels in particular find this a joyous time. <br /><br />The Oberoi recently had a cake-mixing session, where the who’s who of the City were seen.<br /><br /> As a variety of rums, vodkas, whiskeys and other spirits were added into the large table of chopped dry fruits, a pungent smell filled the air. <br /><br />The Christmas spirit arrived at the hotel a little early as the guests, armed with plastic gloves, aprons and toques, sang Christmas carols while mixing the fruits. <br /><br />The raisins, black currants, orange peels, almond slices, dates and more were quick to soak up the alcohol.<br /><br />Chef Bhuvan said, “We keep the mix for the month before we make a variety of rich Christmas cakes. Sometimes the fruit leftover from the year is kept for the next year.”<br /><br />The event also included an auction for the homeless children of Cheshire Homes.</p>
