High Court summons Palike engineers

The High Court of Karnataka on Monday directed all the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) engineers of Gandhinagar zone to appear before it on Wednesday in connection with a petition challenging the construction of a building, allegedly in violation of building byelaws.

Gowramma, the petitioner, had approached the court claiming that an eye hospital was being constructed by violating building norms. Justice Ram Mohan Reddy ordered all the engineers in the ward to appear before the court on November 19.

Notice ordered

A division bench headed by Chief Justice D H Waghela has ordered notice to BBMP in a petition challenging the decision to shift 31 veterinary dispensaries from the BBMP limits to rural areas.

Bengaluru Mahanagara Gopalakara Sangha had approached the court seeking a stay order on the government notification in this regard.

The High Court has ordered issue of notice to CBI in a petition filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa seeking stay on proceedings against him in the special CBI court.

The CBI court has been hearing the matter pertaining to alleged payments made by two corporate houses to Prerana Education Trust, run by the former chief minister. The matter was adjourned to November 21.
