Punjab's milk model to come to Karnataka

 With it thriving in 6,000 successful farms, Punjab’s dairy farming model will now be replicated in southern states, including Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Punjab’s Progressive dairy farmers’ association (PDFA) is expanding to other parts of the country and has embarked upon the mission of having a 7,000-member base by 2015. The plan of its all-India association is to pursue the cause so that the government will consider commercial farming as an important occupation and facilitate newer and conducive policies regarding dairy farming.

Association president Daljit Singh said: “The PDFA plans to replicate the model in other states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
