“We need not remember the help that we do for others, but we must not forget the help that we get from others. This is our true culture and our children should know this,” said International Medical College Lecturer Dr K P Putturaya.

He was speaking after distributing prizes to the students during the ninth anniversary of Gurukula Group of Education Institutions, at Gurukula Public School of Wakvadi in Koteshwar on Saturday.

“Whatever we write can’t be literature. Similarly, we should remember that whatever we teach can’t be education. The role of administration board, parents, teachers, public and students are very important in the development of a educational institution. We should know that extra money can easily divert the mind of a student. Parents and teachers should nurture students with the great messages of epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana, with our culture and tradition,” he said.

Bandya Education Trust Chairman B Appanna Hegde presided over the function. Administrative Directors Bandya Subhaschandra Shetty, Anupama S Shetty, Gurukula Group of Education Institutions Administration Directors Dr G H Prabhakar Shetty were present among others. ‘Nrutyotsava’ cultural programme followed the stage programme.
