Two Syndicate members of Karnataka State Women’s University, S L Chandrashekhar and Raghavendra Sondur, have been dismissed from service for “irresponsible and indecent conduct”.

Governor Vajubhai Vala issued an order on Monday dismissing the two from their posts under Section 39 of the Karnataka Universities’ Act 2000.

The Syndicate members visited the university under the pretext of supervising the ongoing construction works, which was outside their jurisdiction.

They allegedly insulted the vice chancellor and the registrar using foul language in front of the students and the faculty.

They also entered the ladies’ hostel without permission and abused an officer.
The governor, taking cognizance of the allegations, constituted an inquiry committee headed by G Lata Rao. Based on the inquiry report, the duo was dismissed.
