Hotel found guilty of power theft

  Expressing anguish over the incident which came to light during an inspection drive here on Saturday, he instructed the officials to initiate strict action against the hotel owner.

The hotel, located next to the petrol bunk near Brigade Junction, was reportedly stealing power using the generator from the adjacent electric pole. Finding this, Meena directed the officials to cut the illegal power supply and seize the vehicle.

In another incident, a hotel on Church Street was found to be discharging sewege water on the road. Drainage water was also found leaking out on Museum Road, St Marks Road and Commercial Street.

The Commissioner took note of the pathetic condition of footpaths on some roads. He also directed officials to set right the wires hanging lose from electric poles. Joint Commissioner Venkatraman Nayak and  Chief Engineer accompanied Meena during the inspection drive.
