A youth from Bihar was arrested on Monday for allegedly plotting the murder of a woman and her son.

The suspect, Jayaprakash Umesh Singh, 24, allegedly conspired to murder his former shop owner Lalitha and her son Johnson over a financial dispute, the police said.
Singh came to Bengaluru a year ago and opened a mobile store in Laggere.

He had given Rs 22,000 as advance towards the outlet owned by Lalitha. Failing to make profit, he stopped the business and returned to Bihar. With Lalitha delaying the return of the advance amount, Singh, who had borrowed loans from a few persons in Bihar, was into trouble, the police said.

Singh reached Yeshwantpur railway station early Monday morning, carrying a bag containing a country-made pistol and two live bullets.

An autorickshaw was parked in front of a house near Laggere. Singh went inside and waited for Lalitha to emerge. When the night patrolling police, growing suspicious seeing a lone youth inside the auto, approached him, Singh jumped out and fled. One of the policemen chased and nabbed him.

A pistol and two bullets were found in his bag. During interrogation, he confessed to plotting double murder, a police officer said.
