A two-month-old boy was allegedly stolen from central Delhi’s Lok Nayak Hospital on Friday.

It is alleged that a 50-year-old man kidnapped him on the pretext of getting a blood test, police said on Saturday.

The boy’s family hails from Jharkhand and lives in a rented house in central Delhi’s Nabi Karim.

His father Guli Mandal told Deccan Herald that the boy was missing since 11.30 am on Friday.

“My elder son Anil was admitted in the hospital after he complained of fever on Tuesday,” Mandal said.

He was with Anil for the last four days and decided to return home on Thursday evening. “I told my wife Anita to come to the hospital on which she came here with our younger son,” Mandal added.

He then went home and planned to return on Friday afternoon.

Around 11.30 am on Friday, Anita claimed that she had left her sons for five minutes to get tea. When she returned, she found that her younger son was missing.

“My elder son claimed that a man took him saying his blood test had to be done,” Mandal said. Anita immediately informed Mandal, on which he rushed to the hospital and informed police.

Police said no CCTV camera was installed inside or outside ward number 19, where Anil was undergoing treatment.

A case of kidnapping has been registered and a team from IP Estate police station is probing into the matter.
