Man lures 8-yr-old with sweets, rapes her

An 8-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 38-year-old man in a sugar cane field at Bachi village in Belagavi taluk on Tuesday.

Raju Bandurge, a resident of the same village, lured the girl on the pretext of giving her a chocolate and raped her at the nearby sugar cane field.
Enraged over the incident, the villagers ransacked Bandurge’s house and pelted it with stones.

The suspect was arrested by the police and the victim taken to hospital for medical examination. The Belagavi Rural police have registered a rape case and are investigating.
