Delivering the presidential address at the Madikeri taluk fourth Kannada Sahithya Sammelan held at Napoklu PU College premises on Monday, he said “a good literature will not propagate hatred. It will bind the society and individuals and will not bridge the gap in the society. Good litterateurs from Pampa till today tried to attain it. Those who go against the society, will attain temporary publicity and will not reach the highest position.”

“Literature is a kind of spirituality. It knows that to remain for ever, it has to have family with values.”

He said: “I do not believe in an illusion that Sahithya Sammelan can achieve everything within two days. However, sammelan acts as a medium to increase the dignity and honour of the literature and more and more people to think in one particular direction. By erecting two poles electricity will not pass through. For the electricity to pass, there should be wires. The work of the wire will be done by the sammelans, forums, meetings. All the media including print, electronic media have been doing this job everyday. However, all of us can not climb its forum.”

“Literature is for common good and not opportunist. It do not have the boundaries of taluk, district, state and country. For the implementation of the project, we have created a framework. Literature is not only a language but it should aim at reaching the highest level of life.”

On Kodagu

“There are talents in Kodagu. Venkatadri Shamarao, Gowramma, Bharathisutha, Kakemani, Abdul Rasheed have played a vital role in the development of Kannada literature. Why our senior and junior writers do not think beyond Kodagu,” he opined
“Even during the reign of Kavirajamarga, Kannada nadu was spreading from Cauvery to Godavari.  Why we are still revolving around Cauvery?” he asked.
