The transfer would take place according to the Karnataka State Civil Services (teachers transfer restriction) Act 2007, and there is no place for greed, bribery and mediators.

A notice has been displayed at his office in Sirsi stating that 'no appeals pertaining to transfer would be received.'

It is also mentioned in the board that the primary and high school teachers wanting transfer should contact local block education officers and junior college teachers should contact deputy director of pre-university education.

In an interview with Deccan Herald regarding teachers transfer he said that the teachers transfer Act envisaged by the State government has been very effective that other States have also been following the contents of the same Act.

So far there was no effective rule for transfer of teachers which created a sort of imbalance in the education department as in Malenadu and North Karnataka region the students and teachers' ratio is different, the minister observed.

Less number of teachers

In North Karnataka teachers are less compared to the students. Unless this imbalance is rectified the backward district would remain backward. Through the counselling it may not be possible to bring a balance all of a sudden but the system would help to streamline the system in the coming years, he opined.

Sacrifice for better quality

Concessions have been given to the teachers suffering from illhealth and other humanitarian aspects. But the teachers cannot expect job at their door steps. They should enatil certain amount of sacrificesin order to improve the standards and quality of education, he added.
