Upset with neighbours, woman hangs herself

A 23-year-old homemaker allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her home in Chandra Layout police limits on Thursday.

The victim was identified as Devi, a resident of Nayandahalli. In a death note, she held two of her neighbours responsible for her death. “I am taking the extreme step as two of my neighbours abused and assaulted me,” she wrote in the note.

Devi had strained her relationship with her neighbours and there used to be frequent fights between them. Even on Tuesday, she fought with two of her neighbours over a petty issue.

Some time later, she went inside and hanged herself. The incident came to light after a relative visited the house, added the police.

The police have taken three women into custody for questioning.

Man falls from train, dies

A 50-year-old man was killed on the spot after he fell down while getting into a moving train under the Cantonment railway police limits on Friday. 

The identity of the victim is yet to be ascertained, said the police.

The accident occurred at Malur station when the victim was trying to board a moving train. He lost balance, fell down and came under the wheels, said the police.
