Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Public Affairs Centre (PAC), an NGO that works towards improving the quality of governance, recently.

The MoU has been signed for Rs 25 lakh to assess  quality of work and the services provided by BWSSB and conduct a survey of the Board employees as well as the consumers.

Explaining details about the project, a BWSSB official said, the employees find it easier to share the work-related problems with a non-governmental third party.  As per the norms of the project, although the employees designation will be mentioned, the names will not be revealed. The anonymity will help the employees to share the problems freely and provide an unbiased feedback.

Meena Nair, project manager of PAC, said sometimes the employee’s work may be hampered by political influences. The survey will help in better understanding the problems faced by individuals, which otherwise would not be noticed by the Board’s higher-ups.
